Vampire Cat?

April 16th, 2012

I may not write about vampires, but this cat video sure gives me some quirky ideas for a vampire cat story.  Enjoy and happy Monday!

Funny Cats And Dogs: Who Says You Can’t Have The Best Of Both?

April 9th, 2012

Maybe it’s just because I love the song Who Let The Dogs Out by Baha Men, but this video of funny cats and dogs caught on camera made me laugh until my sides hurt. Word of warning, though, this one is long, but worth every minute.

Happy Monday!

Thanking My Cheerleader… The Star Wars Way

March 19th, 2012

If you’re new to this blog, you may not know my husband is a Star Wars geek.

Oh yeah.

We’ve got every movie, including the latest Clone Wars, in more than one format and a house full of action figures — and that doesn’t include the comic books and paperback novels. Thankfully he’s not as into this cult phenomena as some, but I know more about Star Wars than I ever thought possible.

DH is also my biggest cheerleader. He may not always understand why I write, nor why I chose a cat as the protagonist for my first work of fiction, but he supports my dreams. For that I’m willing to watch as many SW videos as he wants and listen to hours of discussion on the history of the minor characters from story lines I didn’t know existed.

So when I find a funny video that combines kittens with Star Wars, you know I just have to share it. Enjoy!

Who is your cheerleader? What would you be willing to do to say thanks to that person?

If Cats Could Talk…

February 27th, 2012

I’m so excited this week because Natalie Hartford of Life Out Loud is spotlighting me on her blog. Natalie calls herself an urban redneck who loves all things pink and she’s a real firecracker. Take a moment to hop on over to her blog and enter her contest for a special edition signed Simply Prayer ebook (open internationally) or a signed copy of the paperback version (open to US/Canada).

In the meantime, I’m getting ready to re-vision my blog. By that I mean I’m going to take a short break to brainstorm some great ideas for future posts. I want to make this a place you can stop by to pick up handy tips and inspirational messages to help you in your day-to-day life, as well as catch a weekly laugh.

That being said, I don’t want to just leave you high and dry while I work up a new plan, so I’ll be re-posting some of the best from the last year. Enjoy!

If Cats Could Talk…

I’ve started editing and revising my work in progress, Apprentice Cat. It’s been tough, but rewarding. In the spirit of my main character’s nemesis, I’ve chosen a video about what cats really talk about.

What do you think your pets are really saying?

How to Start the New Year — Kitten-style

January 16th, 2012

Like most humans, I made several New Year’s resolutions. This is how it looked when the New Year started…

Of course, just three weeks in, this is me trying to keep up with, well, me…

Have you been able to keep up with your resolutions?

When Life Attacks

October 24th, 2011

Welcome to Laugh Out Loud Monday (aka LOL Monday): because, like my favorite fat cat, I hate Mondays, I thought, “What better way to start the week than with a laugh?”

We’ve all had days where it seems no matter what you do, something is bound to go wrong. This poor cat knows how that feels. Sometimes life just pulls you in, whether you like it or not.

Super Cats

October 17th, 2011

Welcome to Laugh Out Loud Monday (aka LOL Monday): because, like my favorite fat cat, I hate Mondays, I thought, “What better way to start the week than with a laugh?”

A (Cat)Hair-brained Scheme For Household Chores

September 26th, 2011

Welcome to Laugh Out Loud Monday (aka LOL Monday): because, like my favorite fat cat, I hate Mondays, I thought, “What better way to start the week than with a laugh?”

It seems there is never enough time to get everything done. Dishes pile up. Mount Washmore takes over your bedroom. The kids start getting their own snacks from crumbs stashed in the couch. And Fluffy discovers a new use for your favorite chair — cat-hair art.

What to do? What to do?

What about training your pet to use the vacuum?

What crazy (and maybe not-so-crazy) ideas have you had to tackle the household chores?
