The war has just begun…

Apprentice Cat:

Rave reviews:

“I am not a big fan of fantasy, although the Harry Potter books proved the exception to that rule. So when I received my copy of APPRENTICE CAT –magical cats? talking felines? evil magic? really? … I set the book aside. Most of the “talking animal” books I’ve read left me cold, but when I finally started reading, this book was hard to put down.”Amy Shojai, CABC

“I’m a big fan of the Warrior cat books by Erin Hunter. This author has done an excellent job of telling a story about cats with magical powers. I highly recommend this books for those of us who have read all the Warrior books and are looking for something new to read.”Paperkat

About Apprentice Cat

A magical partnership between a cat and a boy. A mysterious plot years in the making. Will they uncover the truth before it’s too late? If you love edge-of-your-seat action, intriguing espionage, and a bit of magic, then you’ll love Apprentice Cat, an animal adventure story for ages 9 and up.

Apprentice Cat is the first full-length novel in Virginia Ripple’s Master Cat series, a clean sword and sorcery fantasy for ages 9 and older. If you like J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter or Erin Hunter’s Warriors, then you’ll love a series that combines their best traits of magic, mystery and talking cats.

Journeyman Cat:

Rave reviews:

“I have read many books about cats and they are usually about fluffy kittens and gentle little furballs rubbing up against ankles or playing with cat-toys. “Journeyman Cat” is a different sort of cat-book altogether. These felines are much more likely to shoot you with a crossbow, than warm your lap. They are no less riveting though for their lack of the graces, which usually belong to the typical domestic tabby. It deserves to be called page-turningly exciting and it has a profound message as well about the dangers of fanaticism and religious extremism. It’s a story I hope becomes a classic. It certainly ought to.”Mr. C. A. Meade

“To any readers who’ve enjoyed J.R.R. Tolkien, Anne McCaffery, or George R.R. Martin: You just may find this little story tasty.”ShereeB

About Journeyman Cat

Despite the war, despite that everyone else says he’s dead, Journeyman Toby continues to search for his father with the help of his human partner. When what promised to be another dead-end lead turns into something more, Toby pounces on the possibility like only a talking magical cat can. However, his questions regarding the secret goings-on of a local temple catches the attention of a mysterious cat whose sole ambition is to enslave the human race.

His supervisor orders the young tom to leave his informal investigation alone or be dismissed from the Office of Kingdom Guardianship. Even though he yearns to find his father, Toby obeys because it would mean taking away the one thing his partner cherishes: his position in the OKG. He follows orders, that is, until someone connected with the temple kills someone he loves.

Journeyman Cat is the second full-length novel in Virginia Ripple’s Master Cat series, a clean sword and sorcery fantasy for ages 9 and older. If you like J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter or Erin Hunter’s Warriors, then you’ll love a series that combines their best traits of magic, mystery and talking cats.
