Today’s funny kids video was chosen by DH, who had just begun reading my current novel and thought the “evil kid” was a child-size version of my main antagonist. He’s since changed his mind, but we both still love this commercial.
Now, if only it were as easy to get a picky child to eat…
Who can forget babies firsts? I remember when DH, Blur and I went to Taco John’s the first time together. We ordered our favorite meals: 2 bean and cheese burritos, 2 soft shell tacos and a large order of potato oles. If you’ve never had a potato ole, let’s just say it’s a spicy tater tot. Delicious!
Blur was just beginning to eat big people food and was more than willing to try whatever new food we gave her, so naturally when Daddy gave her a potato ole she took a huge bite. Her eyes began to water and she gave me a look that could only be interpreted, “Why did you let him give me that?”
It was priceless.
Needless to say, Blur no longer trusts us when it comes to new food. *sigh* It was fun while it lasted.
Here’s a great compilation video of babies eating lemons for the first time that made me remember Blur’s first taste of a spicy tater tot. It had me laughing so hard I cried.
DH, Blur and I went on a nice Sunday drive yesterday, when Lou Bega’s Mambo Number 5 came on. I love that song, so naturally I started dancing — if you can call wiggling around in your seat, strapped in with a seat belt, and waving your hands dancing, that is. When I looked back at Blur, she was grinning at me as if I were the funniest thing she’d ever seen.
Well, I don’t have a video to show you just how funny I looked (whew!), but it did make me think of baby Cory dancing to Beyonce’s All The Single Ladies. I adore watching this baby dance, so I thought I’d share the video. And to be quite honest, I think you’d thank me for showing this video instead.
Maybe it’s just because I love the song Who Let The Dogs Out by Baha Men, but this video of funny cats and dogs caught on camera made me laugh until my sides hurt. Word of warning, though, this one is long, but worth every minute.
DH and I were in a friendly competition last night as I scrolled through YouTube videos trying to find a funny one for today. I thought I had him with the Star Wars Injured Stormtrooper Parody, but I have to admit his Quadruplets video had me laughing so hard I was afraid I would wake The Blonde Blur.
Just because these are both too funny to miss, here’s our double feature LOL Monday videos:
If you’re new to this blog, you may not know my husband is a Star Wars geek.
We’ve got every movie, including the latest Clone Wars, in more than one format and a house full of action figures — and that doesn’t include the comic books and paperback novels. Thankfully he’s not as into this cult phenomena as some, but I know more about Star Wars than I ever thought possible.
DH is also my biggest cheerleader. He may not always understand why I write, nor why I chose a cat as the protagonist for my first work of fiction, but he supports my dreams. For that I’m willing to watch as many SW videos as he wants and listen to hours of discussion on the history of the minor characters from story lines I didn’t know existed.
So when I find a funny video that combines kittens with Star Wars, you know I just have to share it. Enjoy!
Who is your cheerleader? What would you be willing to do to say thanks to that person?
Simply Prayer is getting a new ebook cover. If you haven’t done so already, cast your vote and tell me which one is your favorite before April 1.
DH loves birthdays. In fact his family celebrates them for at least a week, which means it will be like Hanukkah around here. I’ll be getting about one gift per day for the rest of the… well, I don’t know when they’ll all finally arrive since some of them were purchased via Amazon yesterday night.
Like any birthday, it just wouldn’t be memorable without at least one funny thing happening. In this case, my mother mixed up an ingredient for the lunch menu.
Let me just do a short info dump here about my family’s birthday tradition. The birthday girl/guy gets to choose what we have for lunch and what dessert will be. Mother then prepares it with loving care.
In my case, it’s usually haystacks and carrot cake. Haystacks are kind of like taco salad with corn chips instead of tortilla chips, lettuce, cheese, chili beans and ketchup. Okay, so maybe it’s not really like taco salad, but you get the picture.
Anyway, Mom had everything ready family-style. We started piling the food in our bowls when I noticed something strange going on with the chili beans. The sauce was thicker and there were little chunks of something resembling meat.
When I pointed it out to my mother, she lowered her head into her hands and muttered, “It’s chili.”
Apparently she had grabbed the can of chili instead of the chili beans. Gotta say it was a very different taste, but not too bad. All in all, it ended up being a pretty good birthday.
In honor of those annual bloopers that can only happen at birthday parties, enjoy this Funny Birthday Bloopers Compilation video.
Have you ever had something funny or just weird happen at a birthday party?
This little action figure of Marion Ravenwood from Raiders of the Lost Ark caused quite a disturbance in our house yesterday. As you can see, she has only one shoe. She came that way. Unfortunately, my daughter, the Blonde Blur, didn’t think that was so cool.
First she looked around on the floor, thinking maybe it had fallen out of the package. Daddy told her the character the figure was based on lost her shoe in the movie and that was why this figure had only one shoe.
Blur got a bright idea, said she’d be right back and ran upstairs to check the TV. After all, if that was where the character lost her shoe, then that must be where it still was, right?
Very distraught, she came back downstairs and told Daddy she couldn’t find the shoe. I wish I could say we figured out a way to help her understand why the action figure had only one shoe, but in the end we resorted to distraction tactics — we played a funny video on the computer and hid the doll. *sigh*
Oh well. At least Daddy knows how to customize action figures, so Marion will soon have two shoes. Now I just wonder if Blur will notice that they aren’t the same white heels the figure came with. :S
In the mean time, enjoy these three De Lijn videos we used to distract the Blur. Happy Monday!
